Children gradually add colours and superimpose them to create shadows and light in the folds of the fabrics. The ballerinas then come to life.
Edgar Degas (30 March 1853 – 29 July 1890) was an impressionist painter who was widely celebrated for his images of Parisian life and painting dancers.
